Virginia Real Estate Salesperson License Requirements
To become a salesperson in Virginia, you must meet the following requirements:
- Age: Must be at least 18 years old.
- Education: Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Coursework: Complete 60 hours of pre-license education in a Board-approved “Principles of Real Estate” course.
- Examination: Pass both the state and national portions of the Virginia Real Estate Salesperson Exam.

- Complete Required Education: Finish 60 hours of pre-license education from a Board-approved provider.
- Submit Fingerprints: Complete a fingerprint-based background check.
- Pass the Exam: Schedule and pass the Virginia Real Estate Salesperson Exam.
