Utah Real Estate Salesperson License Requirements

To become a salesperson in Utah, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Age: Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Education: Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Coursework: Complete 120 hours of pre-license education, which includes:
    • 60 hours in Real Estate Principles and Practices.
    • 30 hours in Real Estate Law.
    • 30 hours in Electives.

4 Steps to Obtain Your Real Estate License in Utah

  1. Complete Required Education: Finish 120 hours of pre-license education at an approved real estate pre-license school.
  2. Submit Fingerprints: Complete a fingerprint background check. Fingerprints are typically taken during the exam process or can be done separately through authorized vendors.
  3. Pass the Exam: Schedule and pass the Utah Real Estate Sales Agent exam through Pearson Vue within one year of completing your pre-license education.
  4. Apply for the License: After passing the exam, apply for the real estate salesperson license through the Utah Division of Real Estate within 90 days of passing the exam. Ensure all required documents are in PDF format for submission.
