Kentucky Real Estate Salesperson License Requirements
To become a salesperson in Kentucky, you must meet the following requirements:
- Age: Must be at least 18 years old.
- Education: Must have a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Coursework: Complete 96 hours of real estate education from a Kentucky Real Estate Commission (KREC) approved provider or six (6) academic credit hours in real estate courses from an accredited college or university.
- Background Check: Must pass a national criminal history check.
- Examination: Pass the Kentucky Sales Associate exam.
5 Steps to Obtain Your Real Estate License in Kentucky
- Complete Required Education: Finish 96 hours of pre-license education from an approved provider or complete six (6) academic credit hours in real estate courses from an accredited college or university.
- Submit Fingerprints: Complete a fingerprint-based background check.
- Pass the Exam: Schedule and pass the Kentucky Real Estate Sales Associate Exam administered by PSI.
- Submit Application: Apply for your license within 60 days of passing the exam, including all necessary documentation and fees to the KREC.
- Post-Licensing: Complete 48 hours of post-license education within the first two years of obtaining an active license.
