How To Get Your Real Estate License In California
#1 Determine That You Meet The General Requirements
Be at least 18 years of age
If you are not a resident of California see out of state applicants
Conviction of a crime may result in the denial of a license
*Failure to disclose any criminal violation or disciplinary action in an applicant’s entire history may also result in the denial of a license
#2 Complete Your Education Requirements:
California requires 135 hours of real estate education. These are broken down in to 3 “college level courses”:
Real Estate Principles (45 hours)
Real Estate Practice (45 hours)
And ONE of the follow courses (45 hours), Real Estate Appraisal, Property Management, Real Estate Finance, Real Estate Economics, Legal Aspects of Real Estate, Real Estate Office Administration, General Accounting, Business Law, Escrows, Mortgage Loan Brokering and Lending, Computer Applications in Real Estate or Common Interest Developments
#3 Pass The Final Exam:
#4 Apply For Your California Real Estate License:
Your non refundable application may be filed either after you pass your real estate exam or at the same time you are taking it (before you pass). In Addition, a Live Scan (finger printing) request must be made.
