How To Become An Arizona Real Estate Agent From Start To Finish
We’re glad you’re interested in getting your AZ Salesperson’s License with us! Here’s how to get your real estate license in Arizona.
Step #1:
You and 19 other pre-license students will be lead by a live instructor through all 90 hours of pre-license material. Due to the natural constraints of getting 20 people on the same schedule, we hold these classes Monday-Friday (excluding government observed holidays) from 9am-2pm in 4 week increments. While we can on a case by case basis let student’s join mid-course, we prefer to have everyone start on first Monday of the month. This means you’ll have the same class mates and instructor for all 4 weeks.
Step #2:
Pass your real estate salesperson school exam. This exam must be taken at an Approved Testing Center. It mimics the official test and acts as a gauge to determine your readiness.
Step #3:
Pass the Pearson Vue Salesperson Exam. This is the official exam and is divided into two parts for Arizona and National topics. You must pass both of these in order to move forward in the licensing process.
Step #4:
Your Arizona real estate license classes don’t end there! Once passing your exam, Arizona requires an additional 6-hour Contract Writing Course. This is to be taken by all future real estate agents. This single day class may be taken at any school (though we of course hope you’ll choose us!).It is not a pass/fail but only has an attendance requirement.
Step #5:
Before you “activate”your license, you must have a designated broker in Arizona that will allow you to work under their brokerage. This is an Arizona law and is commonly referred to as “hanging your license”. Simply put, all real estate agent salespersons must work for a broker. They cannot handle transactions legally without one.. Therefore, the state wants you to make this arrangement and prove it prior to becoming an active agent.
Step #6:
Finally, activate your license with the Arizona Department Of Real Estate!
Note:
There are certain requirements to become a real estate agent. Learn more on How To Be A Real Estate Agent in Arizona and follow the links to the state website for the latest changes and requirements. If you have any more questions on the licensing process, finding a broker to work for or anything about our school, please contact us and we’ll put an instructor in touch with you.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are All Of Your Schedules The Same?
Yes. At this time, all pre-license salesperson courses begin the 1st Monday of most months and run Monday-Friday (9am-2pm) for 4 weeks straight. We’ve created this immersive schedule for students who are not only looking to pass the test, but also have a fulfilling career in real estate. Online course options are also available.
What If I Know That I Can’t Attend All Classes?
Our consistent learning schedule & environment was not only built to maximize student comprehension, but also to meet the 90 hour state training requirement. Due to this, we rarely offer the same specific class twice in one month. Enrolling while intending to miss a class may result in a substantial delay in your training, as you will be missing the legal credit for that class. Students who do miss a class will be given the opportunity to take that specific class the next time it is offered, usually the following month (on a space available basis). We understand that our school’s schedule is not ideal for everyone and for that reason, highly recommend only enrolling if you can commit to the entire month’s schedule.
What If I Become Ill?
We understand that people from time to time will get sick. While we offer any student missing a class the opportunity to retake that class the following month (on a space available basis), persons with extenuating circumstances will (at the instructor’s discretion) be given a 1 on 1 class to meet the state training requirements. This is a courtesy that our instructors offer to ensure student’s success when things out of their control occur. We do not charge extra for this and because our instructors receive no additional pay, it is at their discretion.
What Is Included In Your Course Fee?
The entire 90 hours of required state instruction.
